Marketing Makes Me Crazy

Internet Marketing No Comments »

The big question concerning starting a business, besides what you will sell, is how you will market what you are selling.  Marketing is the way that business owners turn their products and services into the “need to know” name in the business.  Learning marketing takes a serious effort and the sheer volume of information available can be overwhelming.

All of the aspects of marketing these days that are available can have your head spinning in no time.  What do you do first?  What is the best kind of marketing for your business?  How do I go about niche marketing?

It seems that the more you read, the more questions you have.  When are the answers supposed to come?  Marketing can be intimidating when you are just starting out and it is all a bunch of foreign concepts.

What is the first thing you think of letting people know about your business?  Take an ad out in the local newspaper.  Well, you can take out ads on the Internet too.  Advertise on another person’s website.  By using an affiliate program, they will advertise on your site as well.

An affiliate program is a type of marketing.  There is strategy to finding the right websites to advertise on and who to engage in an affiliate program with.  This can be learned on the Internet or from a book.

Then there is the whole thing with keywords.  Keywords work to increase your ranking in searches conducted by search engines.  Learning how to do that will increase your visibility.  If your head isn’t spinning enough, you can pay for programs that tell you how to do this to increase your rank.  They also talk about registering with search engines.

Do you write?  If you have a way with words, you can parlay that into another marketing area.  Good web content on your website will keep people coming back to read what you have to say.  But that content can be read and turned into a podcast or filmed and turned into a video to be marketed.

To do all of this, you need to read some more.  It seems like everyone knows the strategies but you.  In fact, they had to read and ask questions and learn just like you do.  There is no shortcut to learning marketing.  Everything that you learn builds on everything else.

One way to not go so crazy is to learn one area and learn it well.  From a brief description of each marketing strategy you can judge if it is right for you to start.  After you’ve gained confidence with one strategy, begin on another and another.  Taking marketing one step at a time is a great way to accomplish what you want to do with your business without losing your head.

Finding Forums for my Niche

Internet Marketing No Comments »

Part of marketing your website is finding resources that can make that job a bit easier.  This includes networking with others who are interested in similar markets.  Finding forums that deal with your particular area of niche marketing is a plus for any online business.

Finding forums can be as easy as a keyword search.  You can type “forums” in the search box and see what comes up.  It will return over a million results so you’ll have to narrow it down from there.  What is your niche?

Add that name to “forum” and try again.  You will still get a large number of results but not as much as just plugging in the word “forum”.  You can go through each of these, or you can further whittle down the niche to a finer type of product.

There may be hundreds of thousands of forums for your niche.  Try a few to see if they deal with issues that you are looking to explore.  Some of those niche forums may be for customer comments.  On websites, these types of forums draw more customers to the site.  They get a chance to compare notes and talk about what they have purchased.

These forums can be helpful as far as hearing what customers have to say about the products and what they would like to see.  But, as a business owner, you are looking for forums that deal with the business aspect of selling these products.  You want to connect with other business owners so you can pick each others’ brains for useful information.

What is the advantage of these business forums?  A business forum for your niche will give you the support you are seeking to help with your business.  People with similar interests can work together to build partnerships so both businesses increase their profits.

Some forums will let you advertise your business when you post.  This is a way that others can find leads on new businesses.  When you find a good forum, don’t just visit to post information about your business and then leave.  Be a member in good standing.

Being a member of a forum is just like being a member of a social club.  The more often you show up and participate, the more people will know your name.  If someone is looking to partner with a business like yours, another member can recommend you because they know you.  It will be considered selfish to only focus on your own interests and not contribute to the forum as a whole.

As a business owner, join at least a couple of forums.  Don’t join more than you can possibly participate in, and stay current.  However, you want to get a good mix of different types of forums.  Find something special about each forum that you haven’t found anywhere else so that each offers something new.

Am I Overwhelmed?

Starting a new business is fun.  It is exciting to think that you will be your own boss and make money.  These are all good things about business life.  On the flip side, being a company of one can get to be too much at times.  No one wants to admit when they are in over their heads, but if the business is to continue to thrive, knowing the warning signs and getting help is vital.

Do you waste more and more time each day?  This is not a slight.  We all waste a fair amount of time, even with our businesses.  Wasting time could be spending too much time answering emails or looking something up on the Internet.  It could be taking thirty minutes to write up a “To Do” list and then only doing one or none of the things on it.

This could be a sign that the business is overwhelming us.  Instead of jumping in and tackling the tasks that need to be done, we avoid the one job we know we need to address because we either don’t have the answers or don’t want to deal with it.  Either way, our business is going to suffer as long as we hide from the task.

Look to fellow business owners for help.  This is why it is important to be a part of forums and organizations that deal with your area of business.  You are not the first business owner to feel this way and you won’t be the last.  Someone out there has practical tips that can help you to get over the hurdle and be successful in your business.

Does it seem that you work and work each day but the pile of work never seems to get any smaller?  This is a sign that you need help.  Take a step back and look at your business as a whole.  What is consistently not getting done?  What is the nature of the majority of the work that is left each day?

Consider your options.  If emails have you bogged down, find ways to organize things so that it doesn’t take five or more hours to answer them.  Set up your work day to include an hour for dealing with emails.  During this time, you can answer, organize, flag, create drafts, and whatever else you have to do to keep the emails from overwhelming you.

It is marketing that concerns you?  Choose one area to market your business.  This doesn’t mean that this is the only area to use.  Quite the contrary is true.  Once this area gets going, explore another part of the marketing strategy.  Diversifying is necessary but not all at once.

Are you overwhelmed?  Take time to discover the source and find solutions to alleviate the stress.

5 Important Rules in Web Design

Web Design No Comments »

In Order that your Website performs at its optimal best to serve the purpose you intended for it in the first place it is important that you pay extra attention to every minute detail within its Design.

I have laid down here five very important ‘rules of thumb’ that you should implement to ensure your Website performs at its best.

1. Have clear and simple navigation

It is most important that you provide a straightforward and uncomplicated navigation menu. It should be so simple that even a young child would be able to master it.

It is recommended that your visitors should be able to reach your main content by only having to click to 3 levels - e.g. Home>Articles>Web DesignArticles (this is good for the Search Engines too)

It is a good idea to stay away form multitiered drop-down menus and complicated Flash based menusIf the Visitors to your site have difficulty in navigating or they become frustrated because your site navigation is so complicated they will leave your site very quickly.

2. You and Your Visitors should have a clear indication where they are are on your site.

When visitors click on your Domain you want them to become deeply engrossed in browsing throughout your site.

However it is important that both they and you know exactly which part of your site they are in at any given point in time. If navigation to the various Areas of your site is clear your visitors will be able to reach the information they are looking for easily. This means they will stay longer and come back again often. Your visitors won’t ‘abandon ship’ if you don’t confuse them.

3. Splash pages are a NO NO!

What are ‘Splash Pages’? They are those beautiful pages you see when you first visit some websites. They perhaps have an attractive image and often words like ‘Enter here’ or ‘Welcome’.

They serve no real purpose and waste a busy surfer’s time. Splash Pages are likely to give your potential visitors a reason to promptly click on the “back” button.

It is far wiser to give your potential site browsers real value ‘up front’ and forego the pretty but unnecessary Splash Page.

4. Banner Advertisements should not be used excessively

Banner Adverts speak ‘you will have to pay me something’ and even the most inept of Internet users have learned to ignore them. They take up valuable space and you will be wasting that space if you use them even though they can look attractive at times.

It is far more valuable to provide good quality content and then interlace that content with your desired and relevant links.

This way your Visitors will not feel they are being pushed to buy but instead will have the feeling that they have made the decision to buy for themselves.

5. Be very careful when using audio on your site or avoid it altogether

I am aware that the use of audio and video on a website is becoming more and more popular. However if you want your visitors to remain a long time browsing on your site and spend time reading your content you must ensure that they are not being annoyed by some audio going on and on, monotonously looping round and round. This aggravation is sure to drive them quickly away.

If you feel it is right to use audio make sure that your Visitors have control over whether they have to listen or not - If you provide muting or volume controls they can make that decision for themselves.

So there you have it - 5 very simple but very effective rules in web design. These are the same rules that I have applied on all of my sites including ebooks in abundance to very great effect. Start using these five rules today to ensure that YOUR website will perform at its very best.

What are ‘Private Resell Rights’and what does the term mean

Internet Marketing No Comments »

It is a fact that a huge number of people use the Internet each and every day It is also a fact that large numbers of those individuals are anxious to find ways of making money online.

It is possible to use the Internet to research for ‘money making’ opportunities however the vast numbers of online ‘scams’ is the one big problem which makes doing this a more of a danger than an opportunity.

Unwittingly getting involved in one of these scams may not only dash your online money making dreams but it may also leave you absolutely broke. That is why it is so important that, before you invest any money or sign a contract, you must be fully aware what each online money making opportunity is all about and that you fully understand the implications for you.

It has already been mentioned that huge numbers of individuals search for money making opportunities and ideas. As this is the case it may be that most likely you are one of that number. And who can blame you - this is a legitimate idea after all.

Throughout your search it may be that you have sited an opportunity that claims you can make good money by reselling private label products. Now the good news is that the majority of these opportunities are legitimate and safe to embark upon. However the bad news is that it is rare for these offers to give you the detail you need to make an informative choice. This means you have no way of knowing what you may be getting into or how you are meant to go about making money with them.

Unfortunately there are many folk who, where making money online is concerned, move on to another opportunity before fully understanding the present one and how it works.

The fact is it could well be that, if you do this with private label reselling, you will be missing out on a lifetime opportunity. Don’t move quickly on to the next so called ‘money making’ opportunity before you have learned as much as it is possible to learn about private label resell rights. It is more than likely that, after you have understood this amazing phenomenon called PRIVATE LABEL RESELL RIGHTS, you will discover that it is a great way to make money online.

A wide variety of different entities are covered by the term ‘Private Label Resell Rights’ and the Products that go along with it. You will discover that, online, most of these products include e-books, articles, software programs and source codes. These types of products are in high demand and that is why they are so popular. There are several reasons for this. For example:

- E-books are increasing in popularity very rapidly. They are much cheaper to buy than printed books and more and more people are discovering this.

- Articles are used by many web masters to increase their website content

- Software programs are increasing in popularity as more businesses make the decision to be unified, computer wise. .

- It is essential for the development of websites to have html codes and Source codes.

Now, it is a fact that, while software programs, content articles and e-books are needed for the reasons stated above, there are many many ‘would be’ online entrepreneurs that do not have the skills necessary to develop their own content or programs. As a result they are forced to hiring a professional to do the work for them. However the problem with hiring a professional is that it usually is very very expensive.

A professional software developer or writer can and do charge as much as they was for their services and many of them charge very large amounts indeed. This renders the proposed project impossible to get off the ground, especially if the ‘would be’ marketer is on a tight budget.

It is necessary for many businesses and individuals alike to search for much cheaper alternatives.

NOW….

This is the whole crux of the matter One of those alternatives may involve purchasing a product from you. How can this be?

Well very many experience Professionals develop large amounts of Software programs, e-books and content articles. However most often these Developers to not have the experience nor the time to market their products on the Internet. Therefore it is most likely their products will never sell and will die a natural death.

So this is what these Creators of private label products do. They sell the rights to their Products. You have the opportunity to Buy these ‘Rights’ However, it is when you are granted the ‘Resale Rights’ or even the ‘Public Label Rights’ that the big opportunity for making money is achieved.

When Products you have bought come with Resale (or Resell) Rights this means you can sell them on and usually this also means you can sell them for any price you want. If they come with Public Label Rights (PLR) the advantages are even greater. In this instance you have the right to alter them in any way you like and claim them as your own. The beauty of either of these options is that you get to keep 100% of the profits!! So what exactly does all this mean for you?

What it means is that for a modest price you will not only be able to buy an e-book, content articles, or a software program but that you will also be buying the rights to offer these products for sale to others and if they come with Public Label rights you will also have the opportunity to alter them in any way that you wish and claim authorship.

The fact of the matter is that you will actually be making money without having had to do any (or at least with PLR the minimum) of the work. This may sound Impossible but let me tell you Honestly IT IS NOT! All that it is necessary for you to do is to find a supplier of Good Quality products that come with resale rights.

That Supplier may be the creator of the product themselves or a trustworthy online business that offers such products for sale at very reasonable prices.

Either way you will be entering into a legitimate, worthwhile, profitable business opportunity If you are still searching for the perfect opportunity to make money online and do not want to become embroiled in one of the many scams that are out there. And if marketing online products with resell rights sound like something you would be interested in then GET SEARCHING

Before you know it you will have found the perfect product, such as those you will find here, to market online and you will have the opportunity to make money while all the time enjoying the comfort of your own home.

Five Reasons Creating Discount Codes for Your Website is a Good Thing

e-commerce No Comments »

Discount codes give cost savings to customers while providing valuable data and inventory control to the seller.  Here are five reasons that creating discount codes can benefit an etailer’s business:

• Bring in new customers.  When a consumer is ready to buy and knows of multiple sources for the product, price is often the deciding factor.  Consumers are attracted to a good deal.  Offering a discount code to new customers provides an added reason to shop at a particular website over all other options.

• Encourage repeat business.  Satisfied customers will be more likely to shop again when they are reminded to do so, and given a compelling reason to return.  A special discount code can be sent via email at specific intervals as a thank-you for past purchases and to encourage repeat business.

• Increase order size.  Time-limited offers create a sense of urgency and give customers a reason to buy more than they originally intended.  Discount codes can be offered for a percentage off the purchase price of a second item, for example, or for free shipping on orders totaling a specific amount.

• Tracking.  Gathering data on customer trends is imperative for every etailer.  Issuing separate discount codes for different mailings, website promotions and affiliate partners, for instance, provides important information on where customers come from and which marketing campaigns are most effective.  This data can then be used to make decisions about future marketing programs.

• Control inventory flow.  Physical stores manage inventory flow by marking down items they want to move.  Online storefronts can use discount codes for the same purpose.  The discount can be offered across the board, or used to bring in new customers with an interest in that particular product category, or sent to previous customers who bought similar products.

There are several ways discount codes can be applied.  Etailers generally offer a set dollar amount off the normal price of a product, a percentage off the price of a single item, a discount on the order total, or free shipping on orders that exceed a minimum dollar amount.

Discount offers can be extended through a number of vehicles.  They can be posted on the landing page of the storefront.  They can be emailed to select past or potential customers.  They can be introduced on the order summary page to encourage the customer to add items to the shopping cart.  Or they can be listed at sites such as currentcodes.com or dealhunting.com.

Many etailers determine the effectiveness of their marketing strategies by tracking the use of discount codes. The information can help businesses achieve the highest possible ROI and sales at the best available rates.

Seven Tips for Designing a Customer-Friendly Shopping Cart

e-commerce No Comments »

The popularity of online shopping is largely due to the convenience it provides customers.  All other things being equal, offering a customer-friendly shopping cart gives the etailer a better chance of gaining and keeping a consumer’s business.  Here are seven tips toward that end:

Tip One:  Make It Easy to Use

Shoppers want to view information, add products to the cart, review selections, make changes, and pay simply by clicking buttons.  The “add to cart” button should be prominently displayed.  Navigating between product pages and the cart should be easy.  Modifying the cart should be simple.  Conversion is more likely when the cart is easy to use.

Tip Two:  Make It Interactive

What colors and sizes are available?  Is it in stock?  How much money will they save if they buy in quantity?  What will shipping cost?  Building interactive features into the shopping cart allows consumers to explore options and be assured they are getting exactly what they want.

Tip Three:  Give It Time

Making the customer’s cart savable lets him build his order over time.  For example, eBay’s half.com site lets customers save selections to a wish list.  They can return later to purchase selected items.  If a sale is not completed in a given period of time, the shopper receives an email reminding them to update their wish list.

Tip Four: Automatically Calculate Totals

Keeping the consumer informed of total costs will build his or her confidence in shopping through the website.  The shopping cart should show the product total, tax, and shipping costs.  Many sites show a summary page as the final step before the consumer completes the transaction.

Tip Five:  Allow Multiple Payment Options

Accepting payment through a number of methods will increase the likelihood that the transaction will be completed.  Some customers prefer using credit cards.  Some use PayPal.  Still others use echecks.  Providing a variety of payment options makes purchasing possible for a wider range of customers.

Tip Six:  Keep It Secure

Consider becoming a member of a third-party privacy seal program, which verifies the credibility of ecommerce sites.  Ensure encryption of personal data.  Display the website’s privacy policy.  Assuring consumers of the site’s trustworthiness eliminates concerns and encourages a mutually beneficial business relationship.

Tip Seven: Confirm the Purchase

An automated email confirmation following the sale assures the customer that his or her order is in progress.  As added assurance, many etailers find it a good practice to include contact instructions so the consumer can keep tabs on the status of the order, make inquiries, and track shipping.

Consumers look for ease of use, efficiency, and security when purchasing online.  A well-designed shopping cart can meet these needs and increase conversion rate and revenue for etailers in a highly competitive market.

Since there are already lots of people getting into affiliate marketing, it is no wonder that the competition is getting stiff. The challenge is to try and outdo other affiliates and think of ways to be able to attain this.

There are also many tips and techniques being taught to these affiliate in order to best plan their strategy for their program to work effectively so that more earnings will be achieved.

What better way to wow your prospects and customers than to record and publish top notch, full motion and streaming screen-captured videos. Nothing like feeling your hard work getting paid by having your customers jumping up excitedly in great anticipation to buy your product right there and then.

You do not need to have trainings and education to be able to know how this system can work for your affiliate program. Try to focus on the goal that you have set upon yourself to and achieve that with the use of the things that may be quite a lot of help in increasing your earnings.

Easy Profits Using PPC In Your Affiliate Marketing Business

Affiliate-Marketers No Comments »

PPC is one of the four basic types of Search Engines. PPC is also one of the most cost-effective ways of targeted internet advertising. According to Forbes magazine, PPC or Pay Per Click, accounts to 2 billion dollars a year and is expected to increase to around 8 billion dollars by the year 2008.

Let us take a quick look at how PPC Search Engines work.

These engines create listings and rate them based on a bid amount the website owner is willing to pay for each click from that search engine. Advertisers bid against each other to receive higher ranking for a specific keyword or phrase.

The highest bidder for a certain keyword or phrase will then have the site ranked as number 1 in the PPC Search Engines followed by the second and third highest bidder, up to the last number that have placed a bid on the same keyword or phrase. Your ads then will appear prominently on the results pages based on the dollar amount bid you will agree to pay per click.

How do you make money by using PPC into your affiliate marketing business?

Most affiliate programs only pay when a sale is made or a lead delivered after a visitor has clickthrough your site. Your earnings will not always be the same as they will be dependent on the web site content and the traffic market.

The reason why you should incorporate PPC into your affiliate marketing program is that earnings are easier to make than in any other kind of affiliate program not using PPC. This way, you will be making profit based from the clickthroughs that your visitor will make on the advertiser’s site. Unlike some programs, you are not paid per sale or action.

PPC can be very resourceful of your website. With PPC Search Engines incorporated into your affiliate program, you will be able to profit from the visitor’s who are not interested in your products or services. The same ones who leave your site and never comes back.

You will not only get commissions not only from those who are just searching the web and finding the products and services that they wanted but you will be able to build your site’s recognition as a valuable resource. The visitors who have found what they needed from you site are likely to come back and review what you are offering more closely. Then they will eventually come back to search the web for other products.

This kind of affiliate program is also an easy way for you to generate some more additional revenues. For example, when a visitor on your site does a search in the PPC Search Engine and clicks on the advertiser bided listings, the advertisers’ account will then be deducted because of that click. With this, you will be compensated 30% to 80% of the advertisers’ bid amount.

PPC is not only a source of generating easy profits; it can also help you promote your own site. Most of the programs allow the commissions received to be spent for advertising with them instantly and with no minimum earning requirement. This is one of the more effective ways to exchange your raw visitors for targeted surfers who has more tendencies to purchase your products and services.

What will happen if you when you integrate PPC into your affiliate program?

PPC usually have ready-to-use affiliate tools that can be easily integrated into your website. The most common tools are search boxes, banners, text links and some 404-error pages. Most search engines utilize custom solutions and can provide you with a white-label affiliate program. This enables you, using only a few lines of code, to integrate remotely-hosted co-branded search engine into your website.

The key benefits? Not only more money generated but also some extra money on the side. Plus a lifetime commissions once you have referred some webmaster friends to the engine.

Think about it. Where can you get all these benefits while already generating some income for your site? Knowing some of the more useful tools you can use for your affiliate program is not a waste of time. They are rather a means of earning within an earning.

Best know more about how you can use PPC search engines into your affiliate program than miss out on a great opportunity to earn more profits.

A Day In The Life Of An Affiliate Marketer

Affiliate-Marketers No Comments »

Being in the affiliate marketing business is not that hard now with the internet at your disposable. It is much easier now compared to the days when people have to make use of the telephones and other mediums of information just to get the latest updates on the way their program is coming along.

So with technology at hand, and assuming that the affiliate is working from home, a day in his or her life would sound something like this…

Upon waking up and after having breakfast, the computer is turned on to check out new developments in the network. As far as the marketer is concerned there might be new things to update and statistics to keep track on.

The site design has to be revised. The marketer knows that a well-designed site can increase sign ups from visitors. It can also help in the affiliate’s conversion rates.

That done, it is time to submit the affiliate program to directories that lists affiliate programs. These directories are means to attract people in joining your affiliate program. A sure way of promoting the affiliate program.

Time to track down the sales you are getting from your affiliates fairly and accurately. There are phone orders and mails to track down. See if they are new clients checking the products out. Noting down the contact information that might be a viable source in the future.

There are lots of resources to sort out. Ads, banners, button ads and sample recommendations to give out because the marketer knows that this is one way of ensuring more sales. Best to stay visible and accessible too.

The affiliate marketer remembered that there are questions to answer from the visitors. This has to be done quickly. Nothing can turn off a customer than an unanswered email.

To prove that the affiliate is working effectively and efficiently, inquiries would have to be paid more attention on. Nobody wants to be ignored and customers are not always the most patient of all people. Quick answer that should appear professional yet friendly too.

In the process of doing all the necessities, the marketer is logged on to a chat room where he or she interacts with other affiliates and those under that same program. This is where they can discuss things on how to best promote their products.

There are things to be learned and it is a continuous process. Sharing tips and advices is a good way of showing support. There may be others out there wanting to join and may be enticed by the discussion that is going on. There is no harm in assuming what opportunities ahead.

The newsletters and ezines were updated days ago, so it is time for the affiliate marketer to see if there are some new things happening in the market. This will be written about in the marketer’s publication to be distributed to the old and new customers.

These same publications are also an important tool in keeping up to date with the newly introduced products. The marketer has put up a sale and promotion that customers may want to know about. Besides, they have to keep up with the deadline of these sales written in the publications.

It is that time to show some appreciation to those who have helped the marketer in the promotions and sale increase. Nothing like mentioning the persons, their sites and the process they have done that made everything worked.

Of course, this will be published in the newsletters. Among the more important information that have been written already.

The marketer still has time to write out recommendations to those who want credible sources for the products being promoted. There is also time to post some comments on how to be a successful affiliate marketer on a site where there are lots of wannabees.

Two objectives done at the same time. The marketer gets to promote the product as well as the program they are in. Who knows, someone may be inclined to join.

Time flies. Missed lunch but is quite contented with the tasks done. Bed time….

Ok, so this may not be all done in a day. But then, this gives you an idea of how an affiliate marketer, a dedicated one that is, spends the marketing day.

Is that success looming in the distance or what?
